Our Mission

To continue to support a community driven Farmers Market that provides local access to fresh produce, a viable economic outlet for local food growers and producers and businesses; educational programs that support fresh food preparation and healthy eating habits, as well as supporting sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly lifestyle practices.

Produce, Plants and Flowers

The Trinidad Community Farmers Market provides a marketplace where fresh and wholesome products are sold.

Products that can be sold at the Market include:  vegetables, fruits, berries, nuts, flowers, plants, honey, meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products.

Seventy - five percent of the products sold must be grown, raised produced, or gathered by the vendor in the State of Colorado or in Counties bordering the State.

On occasion, the Market will allow resale of produce not grown by the Vendor. For example:  seasonal fruit. Resale produce must be clearly marked as such.

The Market accepts certain value added items which are grown and/or made by the vendor, such as baked goods, coffee, preserves, cheese, sausage and smoked meat.

All processed food must be appropriately labeled with the name, ingredients, net weight, price, vendor’s name and address.  The Cottage Food Act applies to these items.

We encourage sampling of your products to our shoppers!

History

In late 1999, with the desire to have fresh, locally grown produce available to the residents of the Trinidad community and surrounding area, 10 interested folks gathered together and formed the first board of directors for the Trinidad Farmers Market.

After several months of planning and with the support of the City of Trinidad, the opening day for the Market was scheduled for July 15th, 2000.

The Market's original location was on Main Street in the parking

lot adjacent to the Miner's Memorial Park.

In 2008 the Farmers Market was invited to move to its current location in beautiful, centrally located Cimino Park.

Our Spirit and Vision
